Natco Pharma Secures USFDA Tentative Approval for Generic Version of Blockbuster Cancer Drug
Natco Pharma Ltd. has received tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its generic Olaparib tablets in 100 mg and 150 mg strengths, the generic version of AstraZeneca’s cancer drug Lynparza. Under the partnership, Natco will manufacture the tablets, while Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd. will handle their distribution in the US market. Although the product has received tentative approval, the ongoing Para IV patent litigation means commercial launch will depend on the legal outcome and final regulatory clearance. According to industry estimates, Olaparib tablets generated approximately $1.4 billion in US sales during the 12 months ended March 2026, highlighting the significant market opportunity. The approval marks an important regulatory milestone for Natco and reflects its continued focus on expanding its presence in the high-value global oncology generics market. $NATCOPHARM Disclaimer: This post is for informational purposes only and not a recommendation to buy or sell any securities.
