Reliance Secures $3B Green Ammonia Pact with Samsung C&T

RELIANCE
has entered a binding 15-year agreement with Samsung C&T, a Samsung Group affiliate, to supply green ammonia valued at over $3 billion, with deliveries commencing in the second half of FY29 (2028-2029). This pact, disclosed via regulatory filing, ranks among the largest long-term green ammonia offtake deals worldwide, bolstering Reliance's green hydrogen ecosystem and clean energy manufacturing, including solar modules, batteries, and electrolysers. Green ammonia, synthesized from renewable hydrogen and nitrogen, serves as a low-carbon hydrogen carrier, aligning with Japan and South Korea's push for emission reductions in power and industry. Anant Ambani, Executive Director, hailed it as a pivotal step for India's clean energy transition, marking the first of multiple offtake deals to scale Reliance's New Energy platform amid its $10 billion 2021 renewable investment.
