RITES strengthens order book with new rail projects across Africa and India

RITES
has picked up strong momentum with two fresh wins, one international and one domestic which is highlighting its engineering capabilities across geographies. The company will supply and commission two fully overhauled Cape Gauge ALCO diesel-electric locomotives for $3.6 million (CIF) to the African Rail Company, serving regions like Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Botswana. These locomotives are upgraded with new bogies, traction motors, control systems, and air brakes, and are expected to be delivered in nine months. On the domestic front, the RITES-Aryan JV has secured a ₹37.81 crore (excluding GST) EPC contract from South Western Railway for the redevelopment of Tumakuru Station, with a completion timeline of 540 days. Adding to the momentum, RITES also received a ₹28.5 crore Letter of Intent last month from GUDC to act as a third-party inspection agency for key infrastructure projects under AMRUT 2.0 in Gujarat. These projects add meaningful visibility to RITES’ execution pipeline and demonstrate its relevance in both emerging and developed rail networks. Follow me for more such updates, Thank You!
