RVNL Emerges as Lowest Bidder for ₹165.5 Crore North Eastern Railway Bridge Project

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (

RVNL
) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a ₹165.54 crore project from the North Eastern Railway, marking another significant step in strengthening India’s railway infrastructure. The project entails constructing the substructure of Important Bridge No. 50, comprising 14 spans of 61 metres each with a Double D-type well foundation designed for a double line and RDSO 25T axle loading standard. The bridge will be built over the Gandak River, between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar stations, as part of the doubling work in the Gorakhpur Cantt–Valmikinagar section. Earlier this month, RVNL also secured another L1 position for a ₹144.44 crore contract from South Central Railway to upgrade the OHE system to a 2x25kV AT feeding system in the Ramgundam–Kazipet section. These back-to-back wins reinforce RVNL’s growing prominence as a leading infrastructure player in India’s expanding railway network.
