Tata Motors Delivers Strong July Commercial Vehicle Growth with Exports More Than Doubling

Tata Motors reported a strong performance in its commercial vehicle business for July 2026, with domestic sales rising 28% year-on-year to 33,876 units from 26,432 units, while total sales, including exports, increased 37% to 39,641 units compared with 28,956 units in July 2025. The company's international business stood out with exports surging 128% to 5,765 units from 2,524 units, reflecting growing global demand. Across segments, heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) truck sales climbed 33% to 8,973 units from 6,735 units, intermediate, light and medium commercial vehicle (ILMCV) truck sales increased 20% to 6,100 units from 5,068 units, passenger carrier sales rose 25% to 5,938 units from 4,749 units, and small commercial vehicle (SCV) cargo and pickup sales grew 30% to 12,865 units from 9,880 units. Domestic MH&ICV sales also advanced 25% to 15,435 units from 12,378 units, while total MH&ICV sales, including exports, reached 16,364 units compared with 13,669 units last year, up 20%. The strong sales momentum follows a healthy Q4 performance, where consolidated net profit increased 33.8% to ₹1,793 crore from ₹1,340 crore, profit before tax (before exceptional items) rose 29% to ₹2,400 crore, revenue grew 19.4% to ₹26,098 crore from ₹21,863 crore, and EBITDA increased 8.6% to ₹2,640 crore from ₹2,431 crore. However, EBITDA margin moderated to 10.12% from 11.12%, indicating that while volumes and profitability improved, margin pressures continued.
