Sensex Flat/Down, IT Extends Losing Streak

Opening snapshot: Sensex opened marginally lower (down -22 points at 75,216) while Nifty opened with a small gain (15 points), a genuinely mixed, directionless start. Through the morning session, Sensex stayed stuck in a range while Nifty IT fell for its 7th consecutive session, dragged by HCLTech and Infosys, so IT stayed a laggard rather than staging any recovery. Stock that actually opened/moved gap up:

REDINGTON
Redington shares jumped nearly 6% to hit a fresh all-time high (₹398.80 on BSE) after Apple's "Surprise and Shine" launch event on September 9, where the company unveiled the iPhone Duo along with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Redington is one of Apple's key distribution partners in India, so a major new product launch cycle directly benefits its device distribution revenue. The stock has now gained over 50% in the past six months. Also notable at the open: Upstream oil stocks (ONGC, Oil India) rose 3% each as Brent crude held above $100/barrel, the same oil story that's been hammering broader sentiment is a direct tailwind for domestic upstream producers Tata Investment surged nearly 10% intraday, a sharp outlier move against a flat index
