Tata Consumer Leads Losses as Sensex Snaps Winning Streak

The market closed in the red today, with the Sensex losing around 330 points and the Nifty snapping its four-day winning streak. IT stocks led the overall weakness, the Nifty IT index was the biggest sectoral laggard, down 1.32%, while rising crude oil prices, FII selling, and profit-booking after yesterday's gains all weighed on sentiment.

TATACONSUM
bled the most today, closing down 1.6%, making it the session's top loser among the heavyweights. Nestle India, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Sun Pharma, and Grasim Industries rounded out the list of top laggards, all falling between 1.2% and 1.5%, showing the damage spread across FMCG, financials, and pharma rather than staying confined to one sector. The sell-off was broad-based sectorally. Along with IT, PSU Banks, Banking, FMCG, Pharma, and Oil & Gas all traded lower, a wide spread of weak sectors rather than a narrow, stock-specific dip. Profit-booking played a real role. With the Sensex and Nifty having rallied in the previous session, some pullback was almost expected, today's fall looks partly technical, not purely news-driven. Rising crude oil reversed a recent tailwind. Oil had been easing and supporting markets in prior sessions; today's uptick added fresh pressure, particularly on inflation-sensitive and consumption stocks.
