BHARAT TULIP Artisan Livelihood Initiative
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, operating through the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), is implementing BHARAT TULIP (Traditional Artisans’ Upliftment Livelihood Programme) to enhance artisan livelihoods across India. Launched on November 5, 2024, the initiative addresses long-standing market-access barriers by bridging traditional craftspeople with domestic and international customer bases under a unified brand identity. By creating a dedicated platform for market recognition, BHARAT TULIP facilitates product promotion and retail distribution across modern e-commerce networks, digital channels, and specialized marketing avenues. This integrated approach merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary consumer demand, promoting economic self-reliance while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.
To drive sustainable enterprise growth, BHARAT TULIP provides holistic support covering digital marketing, quality control, skill enhancement, and logistical assistance for product delivery. NBCFDC actively connects artisans with institutional buyers, retailers, and consumers by facilitating participation in trade fairs, national exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets. The initiative showcases an extensive catalog of artisanal creations, including home décor, handwoven textiles, handcrafted jewelry, and traditional leather goods. By expanding product exposure, improving supply chain linkages, and encouraging rural entrepreneurship, the program empowers traditional craftspeople to adapt to evolving market trends while fostering inclusive economic participation.
