Electronics exports increased by 47% during the April-June period, fueled by demand from the US, UAE, and China.

India's electronics exports saw a significant jump in the April-June quarter of FY26, rising by 47% to hit Rs. 1,07,123 crore (US$12.41 billion), based on data from the commerce ministry. The United States (US), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and China became the leading three export destinations for the sector during this time, while the Netherlands and Germany additionally functioned as significant markets. This geographical diversification highlights India's increasing involvement in the global electronics supply chain and its rising status as a viable alternative manufacturing center in Asia. Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced on Saturday that India's electronics exports have surpassed Rs. 3,45,280 crore (US$40 billion), which indicates an eight-fold growth in the last 11 years, whereas domestic electronics manufacturing has experienced a six-fold increase. The US remains India's principal export market, representing a significant 60.17% share, with the UAE at 8.09%, China at 3.88%, the Netherlands at 2.68%, and Germany at 2.09%. Apart from electronics, the US continues to be the leading export market for India's ready-made garments (RMG), holding a 34.11% share of exports. The United Kingdom (UK) is next at 8.81%, followed by the UAE at 7.85%, Germany at 5.51%, and Spain at 5.29%. RMG exports across all textiles increased to Rs. 36,168 crore (US$4.19 billion) in the period from April to June of this fiscal year, in contrast to Rs. 33,233 crore (US$3.85 billion). during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The knitwear center of Tiruppur alone saw an 11.7% increase in RMG exports in Q1 FY26. This demonstrates India's ongoing competitiveness in the worldwide apparel industry, bolstered by its proficient manufacturing foundation, varied product range, and an increasing reputation for quality and adherence to regulations.
