Global Demand Drives 26.5% Growth in Indian Gem and Jewellery Exports for June 2026
India’s gem and jewellery exports experienced robust growth in June 2026, with gross exports climbing 26.51% year-on-year to reach ₹20,774 crore ($2.21 billion). This upward momentum was primarily propelled by strengthening international demand and a 10.28% month-on-month drop in global gold prices, which lowered raw material expenses and allowed Indian exporters to price their products more competitively. Overall sectoral performance for the April–June quarter remained steady at ₹62,134 crore ($6.61 billion), underscoring the industry's resilience and solidifying India’s status as a top global trade hub.
The expansion was led by a 54.50% year-on-year jump in gold jewellery exports to ₹10,246 crore ($1.09 billion), with studded gold jewellery surging by 85.35%. Other key drivers included polished lab-grown diamonds, which posted a 52.25% gain, platinum jewellery up 34.77%, and cut and polished diamonds rising 8.71%, effectively offsetting declines in silver jewellery and colored gemstones. Moving forward, sustained global market recovery, favorable raw material trends, and strong domestic manufacturing infrastructure are expected to drive further export growth and create new opportunities across the supply chain.
