In FY26, Adani Green Energy increased its renewable energy capacity by more than 5 GW, bringing its overall operational portfolio to 19.3 GW, achieving the largest annual greenfield capacity growth worldwide by any firm, excluding China. The recent capacity expansion features 3.4 GW of solar, 0.7 GW (686 MW) of wind, and 1 GW of wind-solar hybrid capacity, showcasing a varied approach to clean energy development. The majority of the added capacity was launched at the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat, which is becoming the largest renewable energy facility in the world. The milestone emphasises India's swift expansion in utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid projects, while also boosting confidence in the execution of large-scale renewable infrastructure initiatives. The new capacity is projected to counterbalance 10 million tonnes of carbon emissions each year, while AGEL’s total operational portfolio of 19.3 GW is anticipated to mitigate 36 million tonnes annually. In Khavda, AGEL has successfully installed 9.4 GW (9,413 MW) of its planned 30 GW capacity by 2029, demonstrating significant advancement in what aims to be one of the world's most ambitious renewable energy initiatives. AGEL has finished an initial capacity of 1,376 MWh for battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the location within eight months of starting work, aiding in grid stability and promoting renewable energy integration. The expansion will assist AGEL in reaching its 50 GW renewable energy capacity goal by 2030, while bolstering India’s energy security and decarbonization efforts.
