India and Mexico became the top choices for worldwide automotive investments in the first half of 2025, obtaining 22 and 34 projects, respectively, as per a report by BMI, a company of Fitch Solutions. This highlights the increasing importance of both nations in the worldwide automotive supply chain. The global count of projects stayed consistent at 277, down from 279 in H1 2024, while reported investments amounted to Rs. 4,84,270 crore (US$55.2 billion). India is solidifying its role as a favoured automotive centre, bolstered by government efforts like the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the National Critical Mineral Mission, designed to enhance local manufacturing and supply chain robustness. Worldwide, the components sector dominated with 86 projects, while there was an increase in investment interest for non-electric passenger vehicles. Asia represented 52.4% of worldwide investment by value, underscoring the region's significant impact on automotive expansion.
