India and the Philippines have come together to strengthen their space and electronics sectors, as the Satcom Industry Association-India (SIA-India) and the Electronic Industry Association of the Philippines Inc (EIAPI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to encourage collaboration. This collaboration seeks to strengthen connections between industries and facilitate cooperative manufacturing, shared research, and innovation in satellite communication hardware, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and space electronics. The MoU, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, will enable the joint development of essential components and assist in integrating supply chains. As stated by SIA-India President Mr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, the aim is to transform this vision into tangible results that will enhance the space and electronics sectors of both countries through collaborative projects, innovation, and skill enhancement. The partnership will allow the Philippines to play a more significant role in the Indo-Pacific technology landscape. The pact creates new chances for the Philippines to collaborate with India in developing space electronics, satellite payload parts, and ground infrastructure technologies, while engaging in India’s growing electronics manufacturing ecosystem, worth over US$ 115 billion
