India now engages the world with growing confidence, says Union Minister for External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar

Union Minister for External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, while addressing students at Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT), highlighted India’s transformation in global engagement, stating that the nation now approaches the world with growing confidence and assertive optimism. Emphasising a major shift in mindset, he noted that India no longer views the international stage with apprehension but sees it as a platform of opportunity. He elaborated on the concept of a “global workplace, " underscoring that India seeks to benefit from the global order and actively contributes to it. Referring to India’s position as the fifth largest economy, with an expected rise to a third in the coming years, Dr. S. Jaishankar asserted that India must no longer operate with the outlook of a smaller player. He stressed the need for India to assume greater responsibility and visibility on the global stage, especially in solving global challenges. Reaffirming the role of Indian talent and potential beyond borders, he concluded that today, India is more positive and optimistic in viewing the world as both a partner and a platform for shared progress.
