India's automotive sector achieved its best-ever results for November 2025, as all key categories—passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers—experienced strong double-digit growth. Sales of passenger vehicles surged almost 19% compared to last year, reaching 4,12,405 units, the highest figure recorded for the month. The increase demonstrates ongoing consumer interest, enhanced production availability, and robust holiday demand. Three-wheelers experienced significant growth, increasing by 21.3% to 71,999 units, driven by passenger carriers, which surged 24.6% to 59,446 units, whereas goods carriers saw a 10.9% rise. Electric three-wheelers exhibited a varied trend, as e-rickshaw sales dropped 25.6% while e-carts surged 87.9%, indicating differing adoption rates in last-mile electric transport. Two-wheelers established a new record for November, recording a 21.2% increase in sales to 19,44,475 units. Scooters experienced the largest increase of 29.4%, indicating robust urban demand, while motorcycles rose by 17.5%, bolstered by rural and semi-urban areas. Mopeds were the only category to decline marginally by 2.1%. Looking forward, the industry's progress seems poised to persist through 2026, supported by favorable policy actions such as the government's GST 2.0 reforms, alleviating supply issues, and a rebounding consumer market. Mr. Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM, remarked that ongoing reforms and favorable market conditions are anticipated to maintain the growth path. India’s auto sector shows its strength and increasing global competitiveness, fueled by unprecedented festive purchasing and robust domestic demand. This consistent performance strengthens the nation’s status as a dynamic center for automotive innovation and manufacturing, highlighting the industry's contribution to economic development and job creation throughout the country
