India's electronics exports saw substantial growth in FY25, hitting Rs. 3,35,752 crore (US$ 38.57 billion), reflecting a 32.47% rise compared to the last year, as reported by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC). Out of this, electronics that are not smartphones accounted for more than Rs. 1,21,870 crore (US$ 14 billion), highlighting the increasing power of India’s varied electronics sector. Solar panels, telecommunications devices, medical electronics, batteries, and digital processing units played significant roles, with rectifiers, inverters, and chargers collectively producing over Rs. 21,763 crores (US$ 2.5 billion). Photovoltaic cells generated Rs. 9,750 crore (US$ 1.12 billion), telecom devices contributed Rs. Medical electronics represented Rs. 12,187 crore (US$ 1.4 billion). 3,482 crore (US$ 400 million), whereas PCs and digital processors added Rs. 7,051 crore (US$ 810 million). Electronics currently represent 9% of India’s total merchandise exports, increasing from 6.73% in FY24, signaling what ESC termed a significant turning point for India’s technology industry. Mr. Sandeep Narula, Chairman of the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, highlighted the resilience, creativity, and international aspirations of Indian exporters in managing tariff challenges and evolving trade landscapes. Robust performances at the state level enhanced the growth of exports. தமிழ்நாடு முன்னணியாக இருந்தது ரூ. 1,27,528 crore (US$ 14.65 billion) in exports, with Karnataka next at Rs. 67,899 crore (US$ 7.8 billion), Uttar Pradesh at ₹. 45,788 crore (US$ 5.26 billion), Maharashtra at ₹. 30,468 crore (US$ 3.5 billion), with Gujarat at Rs. 16,104 crore (USD 1.85 billion). ESC emphasized that India's growing semiconductor ecosystem is crucial, bolstered by the government's endorsement of four new chip manufacturing units in Odisha, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh valued at Rs. 4,579 crores (US$ 526 million).
