India’s hiring forecast for fresh graduates for July-December 2025 presents a varied trend, with e-commerce and tech startups topping recruitment intentions at 88%, closely followed by retail at 87% and manufacturing at 82%, as per TeamLease EdTech’s Career Outlook Report (H2 2025). Industries like Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) (77%) and Information Technology, Travel & Hospitality (75%) persist in demonstrating robust demand for entry-level professionals, fostering a stable job market. The report emphasizes city-specific trends, with Bengaluru at the forefront with 81% hiring intent, followed by Mumbai at 67%, Chennai at 59%, Hyderabad at 54%, and Delhi at 48%. New graduates with specialized expertise in emerging fields are expected to have an advantage, as cyber security, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, business analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), and prompt engineering are listed as the most sought-after skills. Hiring intentions based on experience indicate a consistent inclination toward early-career individuals, with those having zero to one year of experience experiencing a minor decline from 74% in H1 2025 to 70% in H2, whereas individuals with one to five years of experience remain stable at 70%. Notably, mid-career professionals (six to 10 years) experience a drop to 37%. Nonetheless, hiring for senior positions (11+ years) indicates slight progress, highlighting a demand divide between new talent and highly experienced leadership roles. In general, fresh recruitment remains strong in high-growth industries, with skills-oriented hiring anticipated to shape the job market in the second half of 2025
