India’s main market is set for a significant recovery in H2 2025, with as much as Rs. According to Jefferies Financial Group, an estimated ₹1,54,242 crore (US$ 18 billion) is anticipated to be generated through initial public offerings (IPOs). Following a sluggish beginning to the year, the comeback is spearheaded by prominent firms like Tata Capital Ltd., gearing up for a Rs. 17,138 crore (US$ 2 billion) initial public offering. Other significant upcoming listings feature ICICI Prudential Asset Management Co., National Securities Depository Ltd., and LG Electronics India, encompassing sectors such as financial services, consumer products, and capital market infrastructure. In the first half of 2025, IPOs generated approximately Rs. 45,416 crore (US$ 5.3 billion), a decline from 2024’s unprecedented Rs. 1,79,949 crore (US$ 21 billion) was raised as 91 IPOs were launched by companies. Market fluctuations postponed several launches earlier this year, yet investor confidence is regaining strength as India’s Rs. 4,62,72,600 crore (US$ 5.4 trillion) stock market rises, bolstered by robust foreign investments and flexible monetary policies. The Nifty 50 Index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) stays close to its all-time highs despite global uncertainties, such as trade disputes and regional conflicts. Industry specialists anticipate more than 50 IPOs by the end of the year, indicating a strong pipeline. “Firms featuring distinct business models, robust governance, and potential for long-term growth still draw considerable attention,” stated Mr. Ranvir Davda, Co-head of investment banking at HSBC India. Noteworthy IPOs upcoming include e-commerce site Meesho Ltd., stockbroker Groww Invest Tech Pvt., and eyewear manufacturer Lenskart Solutions Ltd. The impressive launch of HDB Financial Services Ltd., featuring its Rs. The 12,854 crore (US$ 1.5 billion) issuance, the biggest of the year, has increased risk appetite and established the atmosphere for revived activity.
