Indian Construction and Mining Machinery Exports Jump 31.5% While Domestic Sales Top 1.4 Lakh Units

Domestically, the industry achieved a significant milestone by recording sales surpassing 1.4 lakh units. This steady 3% year-on-year increase is primarily anchored by the government’s relentless public investment in large-scale infrastructure. During the recent Mining & Construction Equipment Summit—collaboratively organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ministry of Heavy Industries—Mr. Vivek Bhatia, MD and CEO of TKIL Industries, underscored the sector's evolving role. He noted that equipment manufacturing has become a fundamental enabler for expanding transport networks, accelerating urban infrastructure upgrades, and advancing critical mineral mining. Furthermore, this ongoing growth is heavily supported by a rapid industry-wide adoption of advanced mechanization, next-generation automation, and innovative technologies explicitly designed to maximize operational efficiency. Beyond domestic achievements, the sector demonstrated exceptional international performance, recording a remarkably robust 31.5% year-on-year growth in exports. This impressive surge is the direct result of domestic manufacturers strategically enhancing their global competitiveness. By focusing on deeper supply chain localization, elevating product quality to meet stringent international standards, and maintaining highly competitive pricing, Indian manufacturers are establishing a powerful overseas presence. This marks a pivotal transition for the industry, evolving from a market primarily serving local needs to a formidable player meeting demanding global requirements.
