Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate of Employment and Training of the Government of Gujarat to set up Advanced Manufacturing Labs (AMLs) at five Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) throughout the state. The laboratories will be established at ITIs in Palanpur, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, Godhra, and Dahod, aiming to enhance industry-related skill development and provide students with the skills needed for contemporary automotive production. The initiative is a component of Maruti Suzuki’s extensive plan to cultivate a workforce prepared for the future that can address the changing needs of India’s swiftly growing automotive sector. Gujarat has become a vital manufacturing center for the company, and the creation of these labs aims to bolster the state's expanding industrial ecosystem by improving the quality of vocational training and technical education. The Advanced Manufacturing Labs will offer students practical learning experiences, direct exposure to contemporary manufacturing tools, and training that meets industry benchmarks. The organization declared that the initiative seeks to connect classroom learning with job market needs, thus enhancing the career prospects of students finishing technical programs. Maruti Suzuki presently backs 31 ITIs throughout India in trades related to manufacturing and has set up 18 Advanced Manufacturing Labs across the country. The company will expand the total number of AMLs to 23 across seven states and Union Territories with the inclusion of five new labs in Gujarat. The initiative aims to enhance technical skills, promote cooperation between industry and academia, and aid in building a skilled workforce that can help realize India's goal of becoming a global center for manufacturing and automotive production. $MARUTI
