NATCO Pharma, an Indian pharmaceutical company, has introduced generic Pomalidomide capsules for treating blood and bone marrow cancers, such as multiple myeloma and Kaposi sarcoma, in the United States in partnership with Breckenridge Pharmaceutical, Incorporated. The generic variant of Celgene’s Pomalyst comes in strengths of 1mg, 2mg, 3mg, and 4mg and will primarily be supplied through speciality pharmacies and clinics throughout the US. Industry estimates suggest that Pomalidomide capsules generated approximately Rs. in annual sales. ₹29,491 crore (US$ 3.2 billion) in the US for the year ending September 2025, indicating a strong demand for this cancer treatment. NATCO is confident it possesses 180 days of joint exclusivity for promoting the product, according to details from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), presenting a considerable chance to enhance its position in the speciality and complex generics market. NATCO Pharma’s Vice Chairman and CEO, Mr Rajeev Nannapaneni, remarked that the launch boosts the company’s oncology and speciality portfolio in the US and underscores its goal of making speciality medications available to patients globally. Breckenridge's management highlighted the significance of affordable, high-quality generics and mentioned programs for patient cost-sharing assistance to aid qualified patients in minimising treatment delays and ensuring continuity of care.
