Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi emphasized India's swift evolution in the food processing industry, pointing out that it has grown 20-fold in the last ten years, fueled by Central government programs like the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and large-scale food parks. At the opening of World Food India 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, he stated that these actions have reinforced India’s position in global food security. He emphasized a significant societal change, noting that 25 crore Indians have escaped poverty during this time to become part of the neo-middle class, a vibrant group that is driving increased domestic demand. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi stressed that India’s diversity, robust consumer market, and creativity position it as the globe’s most appealing site for investments in food and Agri-tech. As the world’s third-largest start-up ecosystem, numerous Indian start-ups are transforming supply chains, retail, and processing. He observed that India grows all types of grains, fruits, and vegetables, with food tastes changing every 100 km, which provides the nation a distinct competitive advantage. He noted that this year's summit emphasizes nutrition, cutting oil usage, and enhancing the healthiness of packaged products, aiming to establish India as a worldwide center for sustainable food innovation.
