The President of India, Ms. Droupadi Murmu, highlighted on Wednesday that the corporate sector is a key element in the growth and development of India's economy while speaking to officer trainees of the Indian Corporate Law Service at Rashtrapati Bhavan. She pointed out their important role in shaping policies and regulations that affect public and investor confidence in the country’s institutions. Mentioning the Companies Act of 2013, she underscored the necessity of not just enforcing corporate laws but also ensuring that they are comprehended and fairly applied to foster justice, transparency, and an environment that supports innovation and entrepreneurship. In her address to trainees from the Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service and Central Labour Service, she stressed the importance of adhering to stringent quality and airworthiness standards in military aviation to ensure operational safety and strategic advantage. She called for enhanced collaboration with private enterprises in the defence sector through supportive policies and technology transfer to boost indigenisation and position India as a global hub for defence manufacturing. Additionally, she encouraged labour service probationers to prioritize adherence to labour laws that safeguard workers' rights and dignity, advocating for fairness, empathy, and humility in public service.
