The Indian Auto LPG Coalition has requested the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to recognise Auto LPG as a fuel alternative in the fuels study carried out by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). It has been highlighted that Auto LPG is a verified, clean, economical alternative fuel and has beenutilisedd in several global markets, such as India. It ought to be evaluated alongside other conventional and alternative fuel alternatives in this study. Industry representatives have indicated that excluding Auto LPG from this study will lead to an incomplete evaluation of the fuel options relevant to India's transportation sector, particularly in relation to its goals for energy transition and emissions reduction. The coalition states that Auto LPG produces lower emissions than conventional petrol or diesel vehicles immediately, without requiring significant changes to the existing vehicle technology or investing in an extensive infrastructure network. It highlighted that India possesses a well-established Auto LPG distribution network and vehicle conversion infrastructure, providing an easily implementable solution to lower vehicular emissions and consumer fuel expenses. According to the coalition, policymakers examining the initiative led by TERI for Auto LPG will gain a clearer insight into transitional fuels concerning the future of electrification and alternative energy options. Another point made by the coalition is that incorporating Auto LPG in policy analyses will promote increased adoption of Auto LPG, aid in further diversifying transport fuel alternatives, and offer consumers additional options in the market
