The Prime Minister of Japan, H.E., Mr. Shigeru Ishiba, has suggested an investment of Rs. According to Nikkei Asia, India will invest 5,95,884 crore (US$ 68 billion) in the coming decade to enhance bilateral business ties. The declaration is anticipated in his meeting with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on August 29-30 at the 15th Annual Summit between India and Japan. The two leaders will also update their joint statement on security collaboration for the first time in 17 years. The proposed investment will focus on eight critical sectors, such as mobility, environment, healthcare, artificial intelligence (AI), and semiconductors, while also fostering startups and technology partnerships. Japan seeks to enhance its footprint in India by utilizing its expertise in semiconductors and cutting-edge technologies, while also engaging Indian professionals to strengthen business collaborations. Through the suggested ‘AI Cooperation Initiative,’ younger researchers from both countries will share expertise to fast-track innovation. The Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Tokyo also plans to aid in the recruitment of top engineers from India, considering its vast talent pool of 1.5 million engineering graduates each year.
