Indian stock market remains in a bear grip as the benchmark Sensex crashed another 1,000 points, or 1.3%, in early deals on Thursday, March 12, while the NSE benchmark Nifty 50 fell to near 23,550, shedding more than 300 points, or 1.3%. The Sensex has crashed over 3,000 points, or 4%, in just four sessions this week. The Nifty 50 has plunged nearly 900 points, or 4%, while the broader index Nifty 500 index has declined by 800 points, or 3.5%, during the same period. The selloff in the Indian stock market has wiped off investors' wealth by a solid ₹14 lakh crore, as the overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms dropped to nearly ₹436 lakh crore from nearly ₹450 lakh crore on Friday.
