The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are likely to see a steady opening on Tuesday, tracking upbeat cues from global markets, even as sentiment remains cautious amid the escalating US-Iran war in the Middle East. The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a mildly positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,455 level, a premium of nearly 26 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close. On Monday, the Indian stock market ended sharply higher, led by fag-end buying, with the benchmark Nifty 50 closing above 23,400 level. The Sensex surged 938.93 points, or 1.26%, to close at 75,502.85, while the Nifty 50 settled 257.70 points, or 1.11%, higher at 23,408.80.
