SEBI’s New Expiry Rule Sparks BSE Selloff; NSE May Get Tuesday Slot

Why BSE stock is down 4-5% today? So, SEBI's index option trading circular is going to be announced soon. Before this, SEBI's consultation paper came regarding index option trading in which SEBI said that there will be two expiry days. One will be on Tuesday and the other on Thursday. And both the exchanges cannot expire on the same day. So, after the final regulations are out, it will be decided which exchange will get which day's expiry. Now, according to CNBC TV18 sources, NSE has already applied for Tuesday's expiry. And there is very high chances that NSE will get Tuesday's expiry. So, if NSE will get Tuesday's expiry, BSE will get Thursday's expiry. Because both the exchanges cannot expire on the same day. So, if this happens, it will be very negative for BSE. If this happens, BSE will lose its 20% volume And NSE's index option trading market share will increase by 5%
