Avenue Supermarts Q2 revenue rises 18.4%

Avenue Supermarts Limited reported standalone revenue from operations of ₹19,206.18 crore for Q2 FY27, up 18.4% from ₹16,218.79 crore a year earlier. The company had 518 stores as of September 30, 2026. Revenue also increased 4.7% sequentially from ₹18,343.49 crore in Q1 FY27. My view: the revenue growth shows that D-Mart continues to expand its retail base while maintaining strong sales momentum. However, revenue growth alone does not confirm improving profitability. Store productivity, margins and the pace of new-store additions will be more important in judging the quality of this growth. I will watch the detailed quarterly results for margin movement and like-for-like growth before forming a stronger view on the stock.
