“Why Liquidity Matters Around Important Price Levels”
Liquidity plays an important role in how price behaves around major support and resistance areas. When many market participants are watching the same level, price can move quickly through that area as orders are triggered. This can sometimes create a sudden spike that looks like a breakout, even though the market may later return to the previous range.
Traders should therefore observe what happens after liquidity is taken. If price quickly rejects the level and moves back in the opposite direction, the initial move may have been a temporary sweep rather than sustained continuation. If price holds beyond the level and continues to attract participation, the move may have greater potential to develop further.
Understanding liquidity can help traders avoid reacting to every sudden price movement. Instead of focusing only on whether a level was crossed, study how price behaves after reaching that area.
Learning:
Price movement around liquidity zones should be evaluated through reaction, acceptance and follow-through.
