“Why Patience Improves Trade Selection” ..

The market is continuously moving, but that does not mean every movement deserves a trading position. One of the most important skills in trading is knowing when the conditions are incomplete and waiting for the setup to develop. Impatient traders may enter because price is moving quickly, because they have recently missed an opportunity, or because they feel the need to remain active. These decisions can result in late entries, poor locations and unnecessary exposure. A patient trader waits for the conditions defined by the trading plan. This may include a specific market structure, a key price zone, confirmation, a clear invalidation point and an acceptable risk-to-reward relationship. If those conditions are not present, remaining out of the market is a valid decision. Patience does not mean avoiding action. It means reserving action for situations where the planned conditions are actually present. Learning: Selective participation can be more valuable than constant market activity.
