Steel Exchange India Signs MoU With NMDC for Expansion

: Steel Exchange India has entered into an MoU with NMDC on September 8, 2026, establishing a commercial framework for the procurement of consistent-grade iron ore fines. Under the agreement, SEIL will source iron ore fines with an Fe content of 61–63% and above from NMDC’s upcoming Buffer Stockpile & Blending Yard in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The MoU has a primary term of four years and is expected to support SEIL’s expansion plans for its integrated steel manufacturing operations by providing greater visibility and consistency in raw-material supply. The development comes as SEIL recently achieved a record monthly Re-Bar output of 24,823.509 MT, indicating strong production momentum. A stable iron ore supply arrangement with NMDC could support higher capacity utilisation and help SEIL execute its planned expansion.
