$BANDHANBNK

Bandhan Bank shares extended their decline for a second consecutive session on Thursday, taking the stock's two-day loss to nearly 20%, after the lender's weaker FY27 guidance dampened investor sentiment. The stock had ended 17% lower in the previous session and fell more than 3% during Thursday's trade. Analysts attributed the sharp sell-off primarily to the management's downgrade of its FY27 profitability guidance following the June-quarter earnings, rather than the quarterly results themselves. The revised outlook emerged as the key takeaway from Bandhan Bank's 1QFY27 earnings call, with the lender significantly lowering its return on assets (RoA) and growth expectations for the fiscal year. Bandhan Bank now expects FY27 loan growth to remain at the lower end of its earlier guidance range of 14-15%. The bank cited a deliberate moderation in lending amid rising asset quality concerns driven by higher energy costs, supply chain disruptions, and uncertainty surrounding the monsoon.
