BEML
BEML shares rose more than 3% in morning trade on Friday after the company secured an order worth over ₹5,400 crore from the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor. BEML shares were trading at ₹2,087 on the NSE at 10:57 am, up 3.66% from the previous close. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹2,121. It has gained 4.8% over the past month and is up 11.5% so far this year.
According to a regulatory filing, the contract covers the supply and maintenance of high-speed rolling stock, along with allied works for the MAHSR corridor. BEML said the order was received in the normal course of business. The latest contract follows an ₹866-crore order awarded by Integral Coach Factory in 2024 to the BEML-Medha consortium for designing, manufacturing and commissioning two eight-car high-speed trainsets. The trains are designed to achieve a maximum speed of 280 kmph, with an operational speed of 250 kmph. A follow-on order for 16 trainsets had earlier been reported.
BEML Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy said last month that the company expects stronger performance in the current financial year, with revenue projected to grow by around 30%. BEML is targeting around ₹20,000 crore in order inflows this fiscal, subject to the finalisation of key tenders, Roy said. The company has identified order opportunities worth more than ₹40,000 crore across the rail and metro segments, while further prospects are emerging in mining, defence, construction and export markets.#StockInNews
