JINDALSTEL
Jindal Steel has achieved a Guinness World Records title for constructing the world’s longest road using processed steel slag aggregates at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The 1.85-km, four-lane road was built using around 2 lakh tonnes of processed steel slag, replacing conventional natural aggregates.
The project was developed in collaboration with CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) and highlights the company’s focus on converting steelmaking by-products into useful infrastructure materials. Processed steel slag can offer durability and help reduce dependence on natural quarry materials.
The development is positive from an ESG and sustainability perspective, as greater utilisation of steel slag could support resource efficiency and reduce waste from steel production. Investors will continue to track Jindal Steel’s production growth, expansion plans and steel-price trends for their impact on earnings.#StockInNews
