Shares of PC Jeweller Ltd surged nearly 9% on Thursday, October 22, touching an intraday high of Rs 20.17 after the jewellery retailer reported a 58% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the July-September quarter of the financial year 2026-27, supported by higher sales. The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 330.66 crore in Q2, compared with Rs 209.54 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. PC Jeweller shares opened at Rs 19.81 and climbed 8.96%, against the previous session’s closing price of Rs 18.51.
However, the company’s expenses also increased, rising to Rs 759.42 crore during the quarter from Rs 688.85 crore a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing submitted on Wednesday. In a key financial development, PC Jeweller announced that it had achieved debt-free status after repaying its outstanding dues to all 14 consortium banks ahead of schedule. The company also received remittances of approximately Rs 142 crore from export debtors during the second quarter. The collections followed negotiations and the resolution of outstanding issues, marking the beginning of recoveries from long-pending receivables.
Looking ahead, PC Jeweller plans to establish up to 100 large-format showrooms across Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities over the next 12–18 months. The expansion will follow a combination of company-owned outlets and an asset-light franchise model. The company expressed confidence that it would begin setting up new showrooms within the current financial year. Additionally, PC Jeweller is developing a new jewellery brand focused on demi-fine and lightweight jewellery, along with fine jewellery featuring lab-grown diamonds. The proposed brand will target younger consumers and buyers purchasing jewellery for themselves.#WatchOutFor
