PINE LABS SHARES RISE ON BLOCK DEAL

PINELABS
Pine Labs shares gained more than 2 percent after 4.97 crore shares, representing around 4.3 percent of the fintech company’s equity, changed hands through the block deal window. The transaction comes amid reports that Mastercard Asia/Pacific Pte. Ltd. was looking to sell its entire stake in Pine Labs in a deal valued at nearly Rs 900 crore. The identity of the buyer and seller in Tuesday’s transaction was not immediately known. However, deal terms reported on Monday indicated that Mastercard Asia/Pacific had offered up to 4.97 crore Pine Labs shares, broadly equivalent to its entire disclosed holding in the company. As of June 2026, Mastercard held 4.97 crore shares, representing a 4.31 percent stake in Pine Labs. The proposed sale had a floor price of Rs 179.50 per share, representing a discount of about 7.3 percent to Pine Labs’ closing price on Monday. At the floor price, the transaction was estimated to be worth around Rs 892 crore. Citigroup Global Markets India was the sole placement agent for the deal. Pine Labs shares have declined 18.1 percent so far in 2026, compared with a 10.5 percent fall in the Nifty 50 during the same period. The company’s market capitalisation stood at around Rs 22,350 crore. On the earnings front, Pine Labs reported a net profit of Rs 19.6 crore for the April-June quarter, more than four times the Rs 4.8 crore profit recorded in the corresponding period last year. Revenue from operations rose 19.6 percent year-on-year, driven by increased adoption of digital payments and payments infrastructure.
