Apollo Hospitals: Sharp Fall, Key Support in Focus

Apollo Hospitals closed at ₹8,027.50, gaining 4.72% in the latest session shown on the chart after a sharp decline from recent highs. The stock is testing an important technical zone, making the next few sessions crucial for identifying whether a recovery can develop. Technical View: On the daily timeframe, Apollo Hospitals has witnessed a sharp correction from the ₹8,400–₹8,500 zone and is trading below its 10 EMA (₹8,158), 20 EMA (₹8,389), 50 EMA (₹8,580) and 100 SMA (₹8,641). The price is also near the 200 SMA at ₹8,041, which is an important level to monitor. The RSI is around 37, indicating weak momentum, while the MACD remains deeply negative, reflecting selling pressure. ADX near 31 suggests that the prevailing trend has meaningful strength, although the direction of the trend remains bearish in the current setup. Key Levels to Watch: Support: ₹8,000–₹7,775, followed by the rising long-term trendline near ₹7,400–₹7,500. Resistance: ₹8,150–₹8,200, followed by ₹8,390–₹8,580. My View: The ₹8,000 zone and the recent low near ₹7,775 are crucial support levels. Sustained price stability above this zone could support a recovery attempt. A move above ₹8,200 would be an initial sign of improving momentum, while reclaiming the ₹8,390–₹8,580 zone would provide stronger technical confirmation. A decisive breakdown below ₹7,775 could increase downside risk toward the rising trendline. Existing holders may monitor support behaviour and recovery strength before assessing the trend's sustainability. Disclosure: Neither I nor my family members hold any shares of Karur Vysya Bank as of the date of publication.
