Astral Ltd: Recovery Attempt Near Key Resistance

Astral Ltd, a major player in India’s plumbing and piping segment, has recently shown signs of recovery after a prolonged correction. The company benefits from steady demand coming from housing, infrastructure development, and agriculture-related piping solutions. From a technical perspective, the daily chart indicates that the stock remained in a strong downtrend for almost a year, falling from the ₹2400 zone to nearly ₹1250 where it formed a base. After this long correction, the stock started building a gradual accumulation structure, with higher lows visible in the recent months. Currently, prices have moved above short-term averages like 8-EMA and 33-EMA, indicating improving momentum. The stock has also expanded toward the upper Bollinger Band, suggesting strong buying interest in the recent rally. However, the stock is now approaching a major supply zone near ₹1700–₹1750, which has acted as resistance earlier. If the stock manages to sustain above ₹1750, it may trigger further momentum toward ₹1850–₹1950 levels. On the downside, ₹1600–₹1550 remains an important short-term support zone, while the broader structural support lies near ₹1500, close to the long-term moving average. The RSI indicator is trending in the positive zone, reflecting strengthening momentum, but it is also nearing the higher band, which may lead to short-term consolidation before the next directional move. On the news front, the piping sector has recently seen positive sentiment due to rising PVC prices and strong demand from the construction and infrastructure sector. Companies like Astral have also reported healthy volume growth in recent quarters, supporting the sector outlook. Overall, Astral appears to be attempting a trend reversal after a long decline, but the ₹1700–₹1750 zone will be a crucial level to watch. A decisive breakout could confirm strength, while rejection from this area may lead to consolidation or a pullback.
