Bank of Baroda Outlook: Q4 results strengthen fundamentals, technicals remain mixed
Bank of Baroda reported a healthy Q4 performance with net profit rising around 11% YoY, while the board also announced a dividend of ₹8.50 per share, supporting overall investor sentiment. Strong earnings, steady asset quality and attractive shareholder payout are likely to keep the stock in focus in the coming sessions, with positive sentiment possibly supporting Monday’s opening.
On technical charts, the stock is currently trading near ₹264 after witnessing a sharp correction from recent highs near ₹320. The weekly chart shows the stock taking support around the ₹255-260 zone after a steep fall, indicating buyers are trying to defend lower levels. Price is hovering close to the 50-week moving average, which makes this zone crucial for short-term direction.
Immediate resistance is placed at ₹278, followed by a stronger hurdle near ₹287. A decisive breakout above ₹287 can trigger fresh momentum towards ₹300-321 levels in the medium term. On the downside, ₹255 remains an important support; if this level breaks, the stock may slip towards ₹242-231.
RSI has cooled off from overbought levels and is now recovering from lower zones, suggesting downside pressure may be easing. Overall, the Q4 numbers and dividend announcement improve the fundamental outlook, while technically the stock appears to be in a consolidation phase after correction. Traders may watch for a move above ₹278 for fresh upside confirmation, whereas long-term investors can keep a positive bias as long as the stock holds above ₹255.
