Blood Bath Coming Soon? NIFTY at a Critical Juncture

GIFT NIFTY is indicating a sharp 500+ point gap-down, suggesting NIFTY may open near the 24,300 support zone. If this level fails, the next possible downside support is placed around 23,900. However, Friday’s closing carried technical significance. The index managed to close back above the Gann level of 24,728, which now acts as an important reference support. The 24,600 zone is even more crucial, as it lies very close to the Budget Day low of 24,571 (Feb 1). As long as 24,600 remains intact, the broader downside may stay protected despite global volatility. Technically, the index is entering a positive time cycle window, suggesting that panic selling may not sustain unless key supports are decisively broken. On the upside, unless NIFTY reclaims and sustains above 25,000, we cannot confirm that a durable bottom has formed. A sustained move above 25,050 would trigger gap-filling activity, potentially pushing the index toward 25,300 in the near term. Strategy: Given elevated event-driven volatility, avoid aggressive derivative exposure. Prefer controlled positional exposure via Index ETFs and focus selectively on stock-specific setups. Trading Discipline: • Avoid unhedged overnight positions. • If holding overnight trades, ensure proper hedging to manage gap risk. Preferred approach: Buy on dips while 24,600 holds. Below 24,600, risk of deeper correction toward 24,300–23,900 increases.
