BLS International Shares Crash 18% After MEA Ban

Shares of BLS International Services Ltd tanked nearly 18% today after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) barred the company from participating in any new tenders for two years. The MEA order comes amid alleged irregularities and complaints related to certain operations. In its clarification, BLS stated that existing contracts with Indian Missions abroad remain unaffected, and the order applies only to future bids. The company emphasized that its global operations will continue as usual. However, investors reacted sharply, fearing that the ban could limit future growth opportunities in a key business segment. In Q1 FY26, Indian Mission services contributed about 12% of the company’s revenue and 8% of EBITDA. The sharp fall also reflects growing concern over regulatory risks and reputational impact, which could affect investor confidence in the short term.
