BSE Jumps 5% Ahead of Q2 Results: Is It an Earnings Rally?

BSE Ltd surged 5.03% to close at ₹3,665.70, showing strong buying interest just one day ahead of its Q2 FY27 results. The upcoming earnings announcement could become a major trigger for the stock's next move. Q2 Results: What to Watch? BSE delivered an exceptional Q1 FY27, reporting revenue from operations of approximately ₹1,566 crore and net profit of ₹873 crore. The September quarter will be important to assess whether this earnings momentum is sustainable. Investors should closely monitor: Transaction revenue and trading volumes. Equity derivatives market share. Growth in Sensex and Bankex options. Operating margins and profitability. Regulatory developments and clearing costs. The Q2 FY26 comparison base was approximately ₹1,068 crore in operating revenue and ₹558 crore in net profit. Expectations are high following the strong Q1 performance. Technical Outlook: Bullish Breakout Technically, BSE has broken above its multi-month descending trendline and the crucial resistance zone around ₹3,590. The stock is now trading above its major moving averages, indicating improving trend strength. RSI stands at approximately 68, reflecting strong bullish momentum. MACD is also showing a positive crossover with expanding green histogram bars. Immediate resistance is placed at ₹3,750, followed by ₹3,900. On the downside, ₹3,590 and ₹3,480 are important support zones. My View The technical structure has turned bullish, but tomorrow's Q2 results will be the real test. Strong earnings, sustained market share and healthy margins could support further upside. However, any disappointment may trigger profit booking after the recent rally. Investors should watch the earnings announcement before taking fresh positions. Disclosure: The analyst and his family do not have any position in the stock.
