FEDERAL BANK: STRONG RESULTS BACK TECHNICAL BREAKOUT

FEDERALBNK
has delivered a strong Q1 FY27 performance, with net profit rising approximately 37% YoY to ₹1,177 crore, while Net Interest Income (NII) grew 26% YoY. The bank also reported improvement in asset quality, with Gross NPA declining to 1.52%, supporting a positive fundamental outlook. The strong earnings performance has triggered a sharp technical breakout on the daily chart. The stock has decisively moved above its recent consolidation range and is currently trading around ₹349, well above its key 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200-day moving averages. The breakout is supported by a strong bullish candle and significant momentum expansion. RSI is currently around 74, reflecting strong buying momentum, although the stock has entered an overbought zone following the sharp rally. Therefore, some profit booking or short-term consolidation cannot be ruled out. The immediate support zone is placed around ₹327–320, followed by ₹314–300. As long as the stock sustains above ₹327, the breakout structure remains positive. A sustained move above ₹353 could open the way towards ₹366–380 in the next phase. Overall, the combination of strong quarterly results, improving asset quality and a decisive technical breakout keeps the medium-term outlook bullish. However, investors should avoid chasing a sharp gap-up move and preferably look for sustained strength above ₹353 or accumulation on healthy dips.
