Global & Domestic Market Snapshot – 5 December 2025

US markets closed mildly higher in a quiet session, with the S&P 500 up 0.11% and Nasdaq gaining 0.22%. Meta rose 3.4% while Nvidia added 2.1%. GIFT Nifty is flat near 26,196, suggesting a narrow, range-bound start for Indian equities. The RBI’s MPC meeting begins at 10 AM, with the interest-rate decision due later today. Prime Minister Modi’s meeting with President Putin will also be closely watched for geopolitical and economic cues. The rupee ended a six-day losing streak, while Asian markets opened on a mixed note. FII selling has continued for a sixth straight session, and FII index shorts have risen sharply to 87% (from 81% at the start of the series), indicating a cautious stance.
