Groww IPO: A Milestone for India’s Fintech Scene

The much-awaited Groww IPO opens a new chapter for India’s fintech industry. The issue, worth around ₹6,632 crore, is priced between ₹95–₹100 per share, including a fresh issue of ₹1,060 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of ₹5,572 crore by existing shareholders. Groww has evolved from a mutual fund app into one of India’s top retail investing platforms, recently turning profitable with a net profit of about ₹1,824 crore in FY25. However, since most of the issue is OFS, the fresh capital infusion into the business remains limited — meaning growth execution will be the key. In terms of valuation, Groww appears expensive compared to listed peers like Angel One, Motilal Oswal, 360 One WAM, and IIFL Securities, which trade around 18–22x earnings. Groww’s premium pricing assumes continued strong user and revenue growth. The platform already serves over 10 million investors, reflecting its strong digital reach. Looking ahead, the company’s focus on wealth management, commodities, and credit products will determine its ability to sustain profitability. Regulatory stability, customer retention, and diversification will remain critical. The IPO is not just a listing—it’s a signal of growing investor confidence in India’s digital finance space. Its post-listing performance could influence market sentiment for other fintech names and listed players like Angel One, CDSL, and CAMS.
