Indian Hotels Breakout: Q2 Results in Focus
Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL) is showing fresh bullish momentum, with the stock closing at ₹772.10, up 4.13% on the daily chart. The price appears to be breaking above a long-term descending trendline, potentially signalling a shift in the prevailing trend.
Fundamental Updates
IHCL recently announced 47 hotel signings and 20 openings in the first half of FY2027, taking its portfolio to 670 hotels. The company is also targeting a 700-hotel portfolio under its Accelerate 2030 strategy. Its Q2 FY2027 results are scheduled for October 21, making the upcoming earnings announcement an important event to watch.
Technical View
The stock is trading above its 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200-day moving averages, indicating improving price strength. RSI near 66 reflects positive momentum, while MACD is in positive territory. However, ADX near 14 suggests that trend strength is not yet firmly established.
My View
A sustained move above the trendline breakout zone could strengthen the bullish setup, with ₹790–800 as potential resistance areas to monitor. On the downside, ₹750 and ₹730 are important near-term support zones. A move back below the breakout area could indicate a false breakout.
With quarterly results approaching, volatility may increase. Confirmation through sustained price action and volume will be important.
