L&T Finance: The Silent Doubler of 2025

In a year when major indices struggled early on, L&T Finance (LTF) quietly delivered 100% return. The rally wasn’t luck — it was the result of a business that transformed itself at the right time. LTF spent the last few years shifting from a wide, complex NBFC into a pure retail-focused lender. It exited low-yield businesses and built a strong engine around farm loans, two-wheelers, home loans, consumer finance, and rural lending. This made earnings more stable and predictable. Fundamentals kept improving month after month: Retail AUM rising steadily GNPA and NNPA moving lower with tighter underwriting Controlled credit costs ROE and ROA improving with better efficiency Even when markets dipped, LTF’s clean balance sheet and L&T brand confidence helped the stock outperform. Investors rewarded the company’s clarity and discipline. What makes it good? Simple retail business, strong risk management, steady growth, improving profitability, and consistent execution. What is the risk? Retail credit slows if interest rates rise, unsecured loans carry higher risk, competition is intense, and rural weakness can affect demand. Technical story: The stock is in a strong uptrend, forming higher highs and higher lows. The 20-DMA acts as a reliable support, with the price bouncing every time it dips. RSI near 65 signals solid momentum, while a double bottom around 58–60 on RSI shows strong trend support. What is the future? If LTF keeps growing its retail book while maintaining asset quality, it can evolve into a top retail NBFC. The market is betting on long-term consistency, not short-term hype.
