Market Mood: 08 December 2025 — A Range-Bound Start on Cards
The market sentiment for Monday opens flat, with GIFT Nifty trading steady at 26,331, indicating a neutral start. Global cues are mixed yet stable: S&P 500 gained 0.19% and Nasdaq added 0.31%, marking a fourth straight positive session. The US Core PCE inflation came in softer at 2.8% vs 2.9% expected, offering mild relief ahead of the crucial Fed interest-rate decision on 10 December. US 10-year yields inched up 3 bps to 4.13%, while Brent crude eased to $64 and the Dollar Index hovered near 98.9.
Back home, India’s CPI data due on 12 December may influence direction later this week. For now, lack of domestic triggers and a rupee near record lows keep trade mood cautious. FIIs continue their selling streak for the seventh straight day, with short positions still elevated at 86%. Asian markets are also opening mixed, reinforcing the expectation of a sideways start.
