๐Ÿ“Œ Market Wrap โ€“ 21st August 2025 (Expiry Day)

Nifty (Close: 25,083 | High: 25,153 | Low: 25,054) Bank Nifty (Close: 55,755 | High: 55,993 | Low: 55,708) ๐Ÿ”น What Happened Today The market spent most of the day in a tight range as it was weekly expiry. Nifty moved within 100 points and closed almost flat near 25,100, exactly around its Max Pain level, showing that option writers kept control. Bank Nifty also settled close to 56,000 Max Pain, but with mild weakness. Volatility remained low (India VIX at 11.37), showing no signs of panic. Sector-wise, pharma stocks (

CIPLA
,
DRREDDY
) supported the market, while autos and FMCG (
BAJAJ-AUTO
, Tata Consumer,
COALINDIA
) dragged indices lower. ๐Ÿ”น Data Check Nifty PCR: 1.18 โ†’ Balanced, slightly positive Bank Nifty PCR: 0.70 โ†’ Call writers still dominant, capping upside Max OI Zones (Expiry): Nifty CE: 25,000โ€“25,200 | PE: 25,000โ€“24,800 Bank Nifty CE: 57,000โ€“56,000 | PE: 56,000โ€“55,500 This positioning explains why both indices closed almost exactly at Max Pain zones. ๐Ÿ“Œ Tomorrowโ€™s Outlook โ€“ 22nd August 2025 For tomorrow, the focus will be on how indices behave after expiry. Nifty has support around 25,000โ€“24,900 and resistance at 25,150โ€“25,250, while Bank Nifty supports are at 55,500โ€“55,000 with resistance at 56,000โ€“56,300. Traders should watch 25,100 on Nifty and 55,800 on Bank Nifty as key deciding levels โ€” holding above them may bring buying momentum, but slipping below supports could trigger selling pressure. Pharma stocks may remain firm, while autos and FMCG may stay weak. Overall, expect a range-bound but slightly volatile session, and avoid chasing breakouts unless levels are clearly crossed with volume.
